The Future belong to those who prepare for it today~ Malcom X
When Dr. Umar Johnson was so eloquently and passionately giving us the blueprint for our survival this past Saturday my daughter said he reminded her of the Malcom X she has seen on videos. I told him that after his delivery I was in love. I was in love with the collective responsiveness and energy that I was surronded by at that very moment. What she saw in him is what I felt when I read “The Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey, Or, Africa for the Africans” by Marcus Garvey. I can feel the presence of many ancestors around him and the Orisha presence was strong when he was near. I alongside many others heard the ancestors say “ase” when it rained; and I heard “Oba Ko So” in the thunder….The king never died (did not hang) when he was teaching about the Zulus in regards to strategy.
How does he do that? Invoke the ancestors and Orisha, Lecture, teach and chastise all at the same time. Dr. Johnson said some pretty strong statements that were in the same vein of some things I said in this video and in this video a few weeks ago. The disparity among the male and female voices in our community is shameful.
I was truly humbled by this lecture in so many ways. I really have been cleaning my mirror the past few days. I remembered why I was a political science major in college. I came to found out I have been studying military science all of this time. I came to find out I alongside many others have been spending more time on ideology rather than strategy. STOP PLAYING. This was an excellent wake up call coming from a very amiable balanced man…as far as I can think. I am looking forward to the application of these blueprints and the completion of the foundation to the reclamation of our supremacy realized. I for one realize we are our ancestors and there is a great one among us in Dr. Umar Johnson. Respect.
